What Olympus serves

These APIs are live. Each one serves only data that has been published in production; the coverage page lists exactly what is loaded.

• US Geographic & Demographics API: Census ACS 5-year demographics for ZCTAs and counties with margins of error, NCES public schools near a ZCTA, and comparison.
• UK Council Spending API: Payments English councils publish under the Local Government Transparency Code in one schema: search by council, supplier, date and amount, with supplier and council totals and the files and months loaded.
• US Sales Tax Rates API: Published sales and use tax rates by jurisdiction for Streamlined Sales Tax member states, by street address or ZIP+4, with the state, county, city and special district breakdown and effective dates.
• US SEC Filings & Financial Data API: SEC EDGAR companies by CIK, ticker or EIN, 10-K / 10-Q filing metadata and standardised XBRL financial metrics with history and comparison.

This product uses the Census Bureau Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau.

Built but not launched yet, because their data is not published: US Employee Benefits & Form 5500 API, US Nonprofit Financial Data API, US Federal Contractor & Exclusions API, UK Public Procurement API. The other APIs in the catalogue are planned and make no coverage, accuracy or pricing claims.

• Company: New Odyssey (new-odyssey.com) builds and operates Olympus.

What Olympus is not

• Not a government service. Olympus is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency or council.
• Not a tax engine. The US Sales Tax Rates API returns published rates; it does not calculate what a business owes, decide taxability or file returns.
• Not related to other products named Olympus, such as Olympus.io, Olympus Corporation, Olympus Pay or the U.S. Department of Defense's Project Olympus.
• Not the earlier version of this site. Its product, industry, city and comparison pages have been retired. The APIs above and the coverage page describe what Olympus serves today.

How the data is handled

Every dataset passes a review of its source and licence before it is published. Records keep their provenance: which file or API they came from, when it was retrieved and under what licence. Figures are served as the source publishes them, with estimates and margins of error marked as such. See the methodology for each API and the data release notes.
