Data · US SEC Filings & Financial Data API
Find the SEC registrant for an EIN
Enter an Employer Identification Number (EIN) to find the companies that report it in their SEC EDGAR submissions record, with links to their filings and financial data.
Only SEC filers that report an EIN to EDGAR are covered. This is not a general EIN database: most businesses, nonprofits and other organisations with an EIN do not file with the SEC and will not be found here.
What this covers
- Registrants in the SEC EDGAR submissions data served by the US SEC Filings & Financial Data API (see coverage), matched on the EIN in their EDGAR record. Nothing is matched on name.
- The EIN is filer supplied. The SEC does not verify it; Olympus checks only its length and IRS prefix.
- Private companies' EINs are generally not public. See Find a public company's EIN.
Look up EINs from the API
The same lookup, with provenance on every record (free API key, reference). The identifier registry also resolves an EIN across every Olympus API (GET /v1/resolve).

- EDGAR submissions — U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The EIN each registrant gives in its filings.
